What is your consulting fee structure?

Our consultants charge at either an hourly rate or daily rate depending on the nature of the engagement. Fees for consultation and facilitation vary depending on the nature and complexity of the work. We are happy to provide a proposal based on your needs that specifies the outcomes and fees for your project. If the service you need isn't listed, please call us, and we'll help you identify resources that may be of assistance to you.

Where are your consultants located?

Our consultants are located throughout the continental United States. BoardSource’s offices are located in Washington, DC.

Do you have a diverse pool of consultants?

Yes, our consultants are diverse in their presentation style, specialties, backgrounds, experience, and geographic location.

Does BoardSource have a speaker’s bureau?

Yes, every one of the BoardSource consultants can act as a speaker at your conference, meeting, or seminar. Please click here for a full list of BoardSource consultants.

Do you offer discounted rates for members?

Members of BoardSource receive discounts on BoardSource publications and assessment tools, which are frequently used as part of consulting methodologies. However, actual consulting and training fees are not discounted for members.

Does BoardSource offer any free or pro-bono consulting services?

Yes, BoardSource participates in a limited number of pro-bono engagements.

Do you work with for-profit boards?

No, BoardSource only works with nonprofit boards.

Do you work with for-profit companies?

Yes, BoardSource has several consulting and training solutions designed specifically for corporations interested in engaging their employees in nonprofit board service.

Do you offer strategic planning consulting services?

BoardSource consultants work with boards to help prepare them for the strategic planning process and to facilitate strategic visioning. In cases where staff are leading a strategic planning process or where an organization desires market analysis and external scans, BoardSource is happy to refer a member or client directly to one of our associate consultants; several are highly qualified in developing strategic plans for nonprofit organizations.

Do you plan and facilitate board retreats?

Yes, BoardSource has methodologies to help plan and facilitate your board retreat.

Do you offer fundraising training?

Yes, BoardSource has several consultants who specialize in fundraising and can present standard or customized fundraising training based on your board’s needs. Please click here for a brief description of our fundraising curriculum.

Do you offer online training or Webinars?

Yes, BoardSource offers private trainings via Webinar, as well as customized on-demand training curricula. We also offer a series of public webinars and an on-demand training titled "Effective Board Leadership Today: Understanding Nonprofit Board Service."

Do you have a service to help match boards and board members?

While BoardSource does not offer comprehensive matching services, we work with Bridgestar to make it easier for you to find high-quality nonprofit board candidates.
