Program Overview

Board facilitation is an exhilarating and often strenuous effort sustained by discipline and technique. This program is for facilitators keen on intellectual challenge and pragmatic tools. It focuses on facilitation within a culture of inquiry, exploring the dynamics of exceptional boards and constructive, intellectually honest debate that must precede collective decisions. Thorough preparation, high-quality facilitation techniques, starting and responsive questions, group dynamics and focus, as well as effective tools for building consensus are key elements of this lively session.

Learn to:

  • foster authentic dialogue
  • engage the "unengaged"
  • stimulate meaningful deliberations
  • reduce the impact of dominating CEOs or board chairs
  • empower the group to make productive decisions
  • quell personal agendas
  • discuss the "elephant in the room"
  • help others achieve their organization's mission
