Program Overview
Board facilitation is an exhilarating and often strenuous effort sustained by discipline and technique. This program is for facilitators keen on intellectual challenge and pragmatic tools. It focuses on facilitation within a culture of inquiry, exploring the dynamics of exceptional boards and constructive, intellectually honest debate that must precede collective decisions. Thorough preparation, high-quality facilitation techniques, starting and responsive questions, group dynamics and focus, as well as effective tools for building consensus are key elements of this lively session.

Course Objectives
The curriculum of this professional development program will help participants to:

Registration is limited to 30 people. Attendance is recommended for:
- consultants, trainers, management assistance providers, directors of training
- field staff from national organizations who offer their help to nonprofit boards and advisory groups
- board chairs, committee chairs, CEOs and executive directors who regularly facilitate board, advisory group, committee, or staff meetings
Approach
Each course makes extensive use of governance examples and exercises for facilitating board meetings and small group work as well as group discussion. A binder of resource materials is included in the price of the course.

Registration fee – $425 members, $465 nonmembers
Price per course includes tuition, materials, breakfast, lunch, and refreshments. Accommodations are not included in the price. Participants are responsible for making their own flight and hotel reservations.
