Miriam's Kitchen, which provides daily breakfasts to nearly 150 men and women, wins the 2001 Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management. Board chair Raina Tagle credits excellent communication with turning the once board-driven, board-run organization into a healthy and enthusiastic board- and staff-driven group.
