Dissolving a Nonprofit
There may come a day in the life of a nonprofit when a difficult question must be posed: Is it time for the organization to close? For some, the final answer will be no, but simply asking the question may stimulate necessary changes. For many, the only honest answer will be yes. Various reasons may precipitate this decision. Often it may take months or years before the organization is ready to let go. Sometimes there is no decision; the organization just fades away. For others, there is no trauma involved: the organization simply has reached it final phase of existence. Whatever the circumstances, it is always wise to wind up the affairs in an appropriate manner to prevent later repercussions.
