Kathleen A. McGinnis
Kathleen A. McGinnis has more than 25 years of experience directing all aspects of human resources, training, leadership, and organizational development in major retail and food service businesses. She focuses organizations toward achieving overall objectives by integrating human resources opportunities with strategic business plans. She partners with senior management to build cultures that enhance talent identification and development, retain quality employees at all levels, and incorporate people practices that directly contribute to overall profitability.
Prior to embarking on a career in consulting, Kathy was executive vice president of human resources and training for Wendy’s International Inc. She served as a member of the strategic planning council and participated in developing initiatives to reenergize the Wendy’s brand and assimilate new business opportunities. Previously, Kathy also held vice president-level positions within the human resources and training areas with Gold Circle Stores, a former division of Federated Department Stores.
Kathy has significant experience in nonprofit board service, including serving as a founding board member and program chair for the R. David Thomas Foundation for Adoption, board member and chair of Prevent Blindness Ohio, board member and president of the Chief Volunteer Officers’ Association for Prevent Blindness America, board member and human resources chair for Catholic Social Services, and board member and human resources chair for Friendship Village of Dublin. She is also an active volunteer for Life Care Alliance through the Meals on Wheels and Help at Home initiatives.
Kathy holds a bachelor of arts with a double major in English and psychology from Southern Illinois University. She was named hospitality motivator of the year, an industry award recognizing individuals who set new standards of excellence in the human resources field, in 1996 at the Elliot Conference. She has completed The President’s Institute sponsored by The Academy for Leadership and Governance for Leaders of Nonprofit Boards in Central Ohio.
